BLOCKADE (BLOCKAGE) traces five years of resistance on Nehirowisiw territory, deep within Nitaskinan.
This short documentary follows land defenders and their allies in their fight against Law 97, a forestry reform that would have handed over the province’s remaining forests to industry.
Through footage shot across multiple blockades and camps, the film shows how Indigenous resistance forced the government to withdraw the bill — a victory that mainstream media largely ignored.
We invite everyone to download the film [and posters], screen it in your communities, and host your own screenings at home, in cafés, or local spaces.
Ready-to-print posters and materials are available in the shared folder to help organize community showings.
Filmed between 2021 and 2025, BLOCKADE is part of Amplifier Films’ ongoing work to support and document land defense and Indigenous sovereignty struggles.

EF! has been doing solidarity work w/ the Indigenous Peoples of the Quebec-Labrador Peninsula(Nitaksinan-or Nitassinan) since at least the early 1990s, struggling against international logging, mining, & hydro interests as well as NATO military activities on their ancestral lands (which are some of the wildest ecosystems left on Turtle Island). This link is to a video doc i produced in the late 1990s after spending time there in the Autumn of 1996-biut there are earlier video docs that our people have done there from as early as 1992.
